The goal of this course is to provide an overview of the state of the independent insurance industry and how independent agencies will be impacted by the market, economy, and M&A environment. The course will also dig into what goes into agency value as well as buyer expectations and the reality of what agencies are worth. Attendees will also be challenged to explore potential options for the path forward that is right for their business as an agency owner.
Educational Objectives:
• Identify Market Trends and what impact they may have on the agency’s business
• Understand historic and recent M&A deal activity and how the current environment impacts internal vs. external options
• Explore various aspects of agency valuation and how to have a positive impact on your agency’s value
• Discuss Internal Perpetuation, Merger/Acquisition and other options to prepare for the agency’s future

Agents will also understand to review employment agreements, restrictive covenants, E&O and EPLI/HR risks. Finally, agency acquirers will understand how to mesh cultures, incentivize the merging producers and staff and maximize the success of an acquisition.
