Bettye Hutchison

Bettye Hutchison is President of Central Insurance Services, Inc. in Adelphi, Maryland, and former Vice President of Truckwriters of Colorado, Inc. in Lakewood, Colorado.  After long years of "commuting" across the country on a regular basis, Bettye is taking a break from her ownership and leadership roles in the agency business and will focus on teaching and consulting.  Bettye has a long list of accomplishments and contributions to The National Alliance and to the state associations for which she instructs.  Bettye has served on the Board of Governors for the Society of CISR, as well as the Board of Governors for the Society of CIC.  She is a member of Insurance Agents & Brokers of Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware and has been a long-standing instructor for the association.

Bettye is a National Faculty member for the Society of CIC, teaching at CISR courses, William T. Hold Seminars, CIC institutes, Ruble Seminars, and CRM courses.  She is an instructor for other risk management and insurance associations and companies.  She has written several articles and develops educational material on Insurance and Risk Management.  Rough Notes magazine has featured Bettye in their marketing agency of the month and awarded her the "Marketing Agency of the Year."  Accomplishments and contributions like these have earned her a place as a Charter Member of the "Distinguished Faculty" of The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research

Casey Roberts CIC, ACSR, AFIS

Casey Roberts is the principal and founder of Laurus Insurance Consulting specializing in providing continuing education classes, sales coaching, sales management and expert witness work. Established in 2010, the name “Laurus” (Loris) was chosen with intent and purpose. Derived from Latin and meaning “victory” or “success”, Casey strives to make every interaction just that…a success/victory for all concerned. Prior to founding his consulting firm, Casey spent 34 years on the retail side of the insurance business as an agency owner, personal lines and commercial lines producer and sales manager. He has been teaching CE classes for some 25 years.

He attained his CIC designation in 1989, his ACSR in 1992 and his AFIS in 2005. His past commitments to the industry include a stint as a director for the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of California, a director for the Agriculture and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS) designation, serving  on his state’s agribusiness insurance committee, as well as working on the California Department of Insurance’s Curriculum board.

John Neal CRM, MBA

John Neal has over 20 years’ experience in both personal and commercial lines insurance company operations with specific emphasis in the areas of risk management, risk analysis and risk financing. Within the Personal Lines market, John supported Farmers Insurance expansion into seven new Eastern states. Within Liberty Mutual’s Commercial Market Lines, John was Manager of Analysis for Risk Management Solutions where he managed a team of twelve Risk Management Consultants responsible for supporting Liberty Mutual's Commercial Market Distribution and Service Management Department. John provided analytical support for consulting projects, risk financing design and structuring, finite (financial) insurance products, cost allocation projects, loss analysis, captive support, and industry benchmarking. Currently, John is the Risk and Operations Manager at Cleanetics, a design-build clean room specialist serving an array of industries. John has also held positions as a Senior Risk Financing Analyst and Risk Management Consultant. Prior to entering the insurance and risk management field, John worked ten years in the pollution control and medical device industries as a chemical and manufacturing engineer, accountant, and financial manager. John's academic background includes a BS from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. He earned his CRM designation in 2005 and has been a CRM National Faculty member for The National Alliance since 2005. Currently, John supports faculty development for both CIC and CRM curriculums and also serves as an educational consultant.

Attendance Compliance

Attendance is tracked throughout the program via random polling questions. You must reply to all polls. FULL ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED FOR EARNING CE CREDITS AND DESIGNATION UPDATE CREDIT.

Requesting CE Credits

The day prior to the webinar, you must request or decline CE for the course via your course history listing under your PROfile account with The National Alliance. Note, if you try to complete this task earlier than one day prior to course start, the course will not show in your course history.

To complete your request, go to scic.com and follow the steps outlined below. The National Alliance will file your CE credits with the state insurance departments within 10 days of course completion.

  1. Click on Sign In and enter your username and password.
  2. Once logged in, click on My Courses.
  3. Click on Course History and find the appropriate course.
  4. Click on Modify CE in the right column.
  5. Complete the CE selection.

Attention FLORIDA, MICHIGAN, SOUTH CAROLINA, and WISCONSIN resident license holders!

These four states require an additional CE compliance form for webinars. Please complete the form for your RESIDENT STATE. Affidavits are available for these states only and post to your PROfile account the last day of the class and remain available for the following three days. Affidavits will be pre-filled with course specifics and your participant information. You will electronically sign and submit the required affidavit. Instructions for accessing the affidavit are below. If you do not complete the affidavit in the required timeframe, you will need to contact The National Alliance for assistance.

  1. Go to scic.com, click on sign in, and enter your username and password.
  2. Once logged in, click on My Courses.
  3. Click on Course History and locate the affidavit button under the Action Items column.
  4. Click on the affidavit, electronically sign, and hit submit.
Connection Information

Logging in early to the webinar allows time for troubleshooting if necessary. 

All Users: Before connecting to the webinar, review the following:

  1. The webinar is open 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. We recommend you connect early in case time is needed for troubleshooting purposes.
  2. Webinar is delivered via the Zoom webinar platform. Connecting to this webinar through a remote office connection/VPN may cause audio/video challenges and attendance polling issues. We recommend connecting to the webinar outside of your remote office connection/VPN.
  3. When you click on the link to the webinar, you will be asked to enter your first and last name and email address. No passcode is required.
  4. Audio will come through your computer’s speakers or mobile device. There is no call-in number for audio.
  5. Pay close attention to your education consultant’s opening comments for important rules, including the attendance policy. There will be three attendance polls each hour to remain compliant with the state insurance departments rules. If you miss an attendance poll, please use the Chat Feature within the webinar platform to send a chat regarding your missed poll. This should be sent immediately upon your recognition of missing a poll.

This information will be recorded with the attendance polling information. If you fail to comply with any of the rules, you may be unable to receive CE or designation update credit.
